University Libraries Directors Council meeting notes

Discussion Topics:
- The Final Report of the Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery Task Force was presented by task force members Amy Lyons (chair), Cindy Bertuca, and Karen Senglaup. Susan Dow, who is on sabbatical, was not able to attend. The Council expressed its pleasure with the comprehensiveness and quality of the Report, discussed its recommendations, and agreed to continue discussing them further in July.
- Steve Roberts shared a final draft copy of a memo and supporting data to request additional support for the Libraries acquisitions budget. The Council endorsed the memo which will be forwarded to Provost Tripathi and Excutive Vice President Willis this week.
- The Council briefly reviewed immediate hiring priorities and agreed to schedule a full-day retreat meeting in August to review additional hiring priorities for the upcoming year.
- Gemma DeVinney presented a final draft version of the guidelines for the Peer Board of faculty and professional staff who will oversee the allocation of a portion of the total discretionary salary increase dollars this summer. The Peer Board will review faculty and professional staff self-nominations and co-worker/peer nominations. The Council discussed and approved these guidelines.
- The next scheduled Directors Council meeting will be on July 10.
