Announcements and Discussion Topics:
- Steve Roberts welcomed Joanne Fletcher and Susan Bagdasarian to discuss the newly formed Divisional HR Administrative Services. Joanne and Susan provided an overview of its services. Divisional HR is not involved with policy (that remains with Crofts) or paperwork processing (that remains with the Unit), but will offer customized consultative assistance for professional and classified staff in four major areas: retention; compensation and classification; employee relations; and training and development. Susan will be attending Town Forums and will meet with CEC and PEC.
- Judy Adams-Volpe reported on the new Provost guidelines on soliciting funds from major foundations and large corporations.
- Nancy Nuzzo announced ContentDM will continue to be used until the Digital Library Initiative is established.
- Nancy Nuzzo recommended setting up a small reviewing to prioritize UBDigit projects. The Directors Council is in agreement.
- Steve Roberts and Gary Byrd reported on the annual SUNY Council of Library Directors meeting, Risa Palm, SUNY Provost, attended the meeting.
Action Items:
- Judy will distribute a message through UBLIB-L regarding new solicitation guidelines.
- A reviewing body to prioritize UBDigit project will be created.
