The Professional Staff Elections Committee supervises and administers all elections of the professional staff of the University Libraries in accordance with the Bylaws of the Professional Staff of the University Libraries (PEC Bylaws).

The Committee does the following:

 

membership

The Elections Committee consists of three voting members of the Professional Staff. Each member is appointed for a two-year term. To assure continuity, there is rotation of membership, with two members appointed in one year and one member appointed in the alternate years.

 

conducting business

In November, the Elections Committee mails to each member of the Professional Staff an Elections Packet containing an Election Schedule, Current Roster, and a Declination/Affirmation form.

The Professional Executive Committee election will be scheduled so that it can be completed by the third Tuesday in December.

 

meetings

Meetings of the Professional Staff Elections Committee are called by the Chair whenever necessary to conduct business which falls under the jurisdiction of the Committee. The yearly schedule is not set in advance.
