committee charge
The Classified Executive Committee exists to further the mission of the University at Buffalo by supporting the development and advancement of the Classified Staff, and by promoting the services, collections, and resources of the University Libraries to the community. The CEC provides a forum for the exchange of information, discussion of ideas, and consideration of matters related to the advancement of the University Libraries. Also, the CEC advises the Associate Vice President for University Libraries on matters pertaining to the goals, policies, and operations of the University Libraries.

Current standing committees under the auspices of the Classified Executive Committee are:

The general duties and obligations of the Committee are described in the Bylaws of the Classified Staff of the University Libraries. In summary:
- classified staff hold quarterly meetings in March, June, September and December
- the CEC distributes the agenda in advance of the meeting
- the CEC may call special meetings on its own initiative
- minutes of meetings will be distributed to all classified staff
membership
The Executive Committee consists of five voting members of the classified staff. To assure continuity in the committee's work, there is rotation of membership, with two members elected in alternate years. Members serve a two-year term.
meetings
The Classified Executive Committee meets on the second Thursday of every month, or as close as possible to that time when a majority of the members are available. The length of the meetings generally is about 1-½ hours.
