Beilstein CrossFire Special Client UB Only

Special Instructions: UB patrons can access Beilstein CrossFire from any Cybrary computer or the two librarian-assisted computers at the UGL/SEL reference desk (1st Floor, Capen Hall). Before you can search Beilstein CrossFire on your office or home computer, you MUST download special Beilstein CrossFire search software. If you use a Cable modem, DSL, or other non-UB Internet service provider from an off-campus computer, you MUST also install VPN for Windows or Mac from the CIT website.

To download the special Beilstein CrossFire search software, you must be a current authorized University at Buffalo faculty, student or staff member and have a UBITName and password. Please read the instructions closely. When prompted, in the "User Name:" field enter AD\ and your UBITname. (IMPORTANT NOTE: You must include AD\ or it will not let you proceeed). In the "Password:" field enter your UBIT password.

Description:

Beilstein CrossFire contains information on over 9 million organic and natural product chemical compounds compiled from nearly 2 million literature and patent references:

· Physical, pharmacological, & ecological property data
· Spectra literature references
· Organic reactions with structures (9 million+)

Beilstein CrossFire can be searched by names, registry numbers, chemical structures or substructures, reaction diagrams, and physical property ranges.
