NEMO (North East Map Organization) is dedicated to serving as a unifying body for all who use, produce, collect, and market maps and cartographic information in the Northeast; increasing communication between all interested in maps; and working with state, regional, and national organizations and government agencies in dissemination of maps and cartographic information. NEMO's principal region is CT, DE, ME, MA, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VT, but also includes membership in CO, CA, IL, VA, and Ont, Qué, and Europe. |

The NEMO
Newsletter is published quarterly and contains news and
activities of NEMO members, as well as useful information on resources
and events in the world of map making, map librarianship, and geography.
Submit news and other materials for publication to the editor NEMO Membership is $15 per year. Membership year runs June-May and includes a subscription to the NEMO Newsletter. Back issues are available online. To join, print out the Membership Form, complete and send the form with a check for $15 (U.S. funds), payable to North East Map Organization to:

Thelma Thompson is Government Documents & Maps Librarian, in the Government Documents Department, which also houses the map collection. Journal of Map & Geography Libraries. Co-Editors (and NEMO members): Mary Lynette Larsgaard and Paige G. Andrew. MAGIC: Map and Geographic Information Center (University of Connecticut Libraries, Storrs, CT). MAGIC, The University of Connecticut's Map Library, collects maps, atlases, gazetteers, aerial photographs, and digital geospatial data, as well as resources on the history and current state of cartography. NEMO member NEMO member Bill Miller, Map Library Manager, assists patrons with reference questions and works with cataloging and digitization of aerial photographs of Connecticut. Maine Historical Society Map Collection. Over 5,000 print and manuscript maps are housed at the Maine Historical Society Research Library.
