IMPORTANT: Non-bibliographic citation databases generally are excluded from this listing. This table assumes basic knowledge of EndNote and internet browser operations. Connection Files for UB subscription databases WILL NOT work when your are off the UB computing network.

  Gale Virtual Reference Library In Gale Virtual Reference Library: Mark desired records. Click on 'Marked Items' at top of screen. Click on 'How to Cite Marked Items'. Choose 'EndNote' option under 'Export to third party software'. Click 'Export', then 'Open.
In Endnote: Exports directly into EndNote.

  General Science Collection In General Science Collection: Select citations by clicking on the Folder icon in the right hand column. Then click on the Folder icon at the top right of the screen. Click 'Export'. Choose radio button option 'Direct Export to EndNote, ProCite, or Reference Manager'. Click 'Save'.

  Geobase (Silverplatter) In Geobase (Silverplatter): Select desired records. Click on Save (floppy disk icon in upper right). Choose 'Export to Procite, EndNote or Reference Manager ' option, then click 'OK'.

Warning: Articles titles are dropped when importing records into EndNote. We expect to switch to a different platform in 2008 that will fix this problem.

  GEOBIB In GEOBIB: Not available, despite having an option to save a text file for bibliographic management software. Import works only for RefWorks, not EndNote.

  GeoRef (OVID) In GeoRef (OVID): Select references. In Reference Manager at bottom of results, choose 'Fields' desired and choose 'Direct Export' under Result Format. Then choose 'Save' under 'Actions'. Make sure 'Export results to Endnote, Procite, or Reference Manager' radio button is selected. Click 'Continue'. Choose desired EndNote library and click on 'Open'.

For EndNote X & older: Download revised import filter to your c:\program files\EndnoteXFilters\ directory replace the old, faulty file.

In EndNote: Click on 'Tools: Connect', Choose GeoRef (Ovid) connection file. Click on 'OK', ignoring the request for a user i.d. and password. Perform search and click on 'OK' to download desired citations.

  Google Scholar In Google Scholar: Though it is possible, since Google Scholar citations are often incomplete and exported to EndNote only 1 citation at time, we recommend downloading relevant citations from other databases.
