Students Invited to Compete in the Microsoft Imagine Cup

UB students are invited to submit applications to the Microsoft Imagine Cup competition http://www.imaginecup.com/. All eligible students are invited to use their imagination and passion to create a technology solution in one of six competitions and challenges. The winners will be announced in St. Petersburg, Russia, in July 2013. The grand prize is $50,000!

Reasons to participate with a team entry:

  • Break new ground, solve tough problems facing the world today, and maybe even turn your ideas into a business.
  • Get involved in the next wave of games and applications – the future is in your hands.
  •  Learn new technological skills.
  •  Test yourself against the brightest students around the world.
  •  Make new friends.
  •  Win cash, grants, and prizes.
  • Plus a chance for a free trip to St. Petersburg, Russia, next July to compete at the Imagine Cup 2013 Worldwide Finals!

The three competition areas are: Games, Innovation, and World Citizenship, and the three challenge areas are Windows 8 Apps, Windows Azure, and Windows Phone. The theme of the 2013 competition is “All Dreams Are Now Welcome.” The deadline to register your team is March 15, 2013.
