The Music Library will be extending our winter recess closing: we will close to the public at 5 pm on Monday, December 16 and will reopen at 9 am on Monday, January 6. During the closing new carpeting will be installed throughout the library to replace the areas damaged by the flood earlier this semester and the remaining carpet. Please be aware that the premises will be prepared for the carpet installation on Monday, December 16 including the removal of CIT computers and some books.
Borrowing before we close: We will extend the due date on any 3-day media items until January 6 upon request. If you think you might need items over the break and can check them out before we close, you will ensure you have the item.
Requesting materials: Delivery+/ILL will be available to request materials–you will need to fill out requests for media by hand. Please note that it may be impossible to retrieve items from the music library. Requests will still be filled but there may be significant delay. If you have Music set as your pickup location, your requests will be rerouted to Lockwood. Please read all emails regarding holds carefully. If you do not want materials sent to Lockwood, you must change your pickup location by going to “Edit My Profile” while logged in to your Delivery+ account. Journal article requests that are filled electronically will not be affected.
Returns: The Music Library bookdrop will not be available after Monday, December 16. Items retain their original due dates and will need to be returned to another library location or bookdrop.
Online sources: All of our electronic resources will be available. Streaming audio and video databases Naxos, DRAM, and medici.tv are available from anywhere with a UBit login.
We will post updates here and on our Facebook page. Please contact us with any questions or concerns–the best way to reach us while we are closed is through email, either individually or to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your patience this semester. Best wishes for an enjoyable winter recess, and we look forward to seeing you in the newly carpeted library in the new year!
