Dum dum dum da da dum dum… It’s that time of year again. Exam time. I don’t know about you, but I’ve always held the deepest regard for the BSC Quick Study Method. Even though finding a team of rap-writing tweens with a flair for babysitting isn’t the most realistic of options for studying, there are a surprising number of songs that cover what you need to know through high school and even college. I credit various songs for teaching me the quadratic formula, the order of the U.S. presidents, and state capitals. (For some reason the countries of the world and periodic table never stuck.)
Law school is even in on the game. A group from Columbia Law School made It’s the Law of Crime which covers a bit of Criminal Law. Quite catchy.
Of course, when it comes to learning things from catchy tunes, don’t forget to check the content. Whether it’s a faux boy band singing about Calculus (definitely not accurate) or Jay-Z’s take on Criminal Procedure (kind of sort of accurate), the lyrics might steer you wrong. Not every artist has a Schoolhouse Rock reputation.Tags: Finals Time, Songs, Studying
