48 Good Books—the successful joint effort between the UB Libraries and the UB Undergraduate Academies is expanding! With your input, the sister project 48 Good Films will become a reality. Our goal is to compile a selection of 48 films including features, documentaries, animation and shorts that embody the mission and spirit of the four Undergraduate Academies: Civic Engagement, Entrepreneurship, Global Perspectives, Sustainability and Research Exploration. The films will be accessible through the UB Libraries.
We encourage you contribute to this project by sharing the names of films that have inspired your intellectual, personal, and professional development. Please provide a brief reason why these films are important to you and which one of the Academies it most closely reflects. The goal of this project is that in the course of a student’s college career this list of “unrequired viewing” will “connect the dots” between academia and life and will inspire intellectual growth and a habit of life-long learning.
The Academies is a collaborative venture open to all UB undergraduate students and benefits from the wisdom and curiosity of the university community. Please take a moment to share your expertise and suggest the films you believe will infuse UB students with the spirit of the Academies. Suggestions may be submitted online or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. Your input is kindly requested by October 26, 2012.
