Student Poetry Prizes – Entries Due March 6, 2015

Power of WordsTHE FRIENDS OF THE UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES UNDERGRADUATE POETRY PRIZE

Sponsored by the Poetry Collection of the University Libraries, Office of the Vice Provost of the UB Libraries, and the Friends of the University Libraries. For the best poem or group of poems submitted by a UB undergraduate student. The prize is $200.

Entries should consist of one or more word-processed, double-spaced poems, no more than five pages. The student’s name should not appear on the entries. The typescript with a cover sheet mentioning the name of the prize, the writer’s name, graduate or undergraduate status, address, e-mail, and telephone number, should be sent to: Linda Gould, 228 Lockwood Library.   Entry deadline: Friday, March 6, 2015.

 

THE ACADEMY OF AMERICAN POETS PRIZE

Administered by the Poetry Collection with support from the Office of the Vice Provost of the UB Libraries. For the best poem or group of poems submitted by a UB undergraduate or graduate student.  The prize is $200.

THE DAN LIBERTHSON POETRY PRIZE GRADUATE STUDENT PRIZE

Sponsored by the Poetry Collection of the University Libraries for The Academy of American Poets. For the best poem or group of poems submitted by a UB graduate student. The prize is $100.

The typescript, with a cover sheet mentioning the name of the prize, the writer’s name, address, e-mail, and telephone number, should be sent to: Linda Gould, 228 Lockwood Library. Entry deadline: Friday, March 6, 2015.
