Special Funds exist outside the regular collections funds and their corresponding codes. Contributions to special funds may be through gifts and endowments (e.g. Lopez Fund for Architecture & Planning) or set aside for unique purposes (e.g. College of Arts and Science/CAS fund** for purchases for new faculty hires). Although purposes and stipulations vary by fund, most require that purchases be made for monographs or similar items based on one-time purchasing (i.e. not serials).

**College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) - Funds for New Faculty

Contact your new faculty hires at the onset of the Fall Semester.
Create orders through the normal means (e.g. the online monograph request form). On the order, you must indicate (a) "HOLD/NOTIFY" and the name and contact information for the faculty member plus (b) the CAS fund code with the location.
Track orders and fund balances for each faculty member via the CTS website devoted to New CAS Faculty. On that page, click on the faculty name to see what has been purchased for that person. Click account balance or amount currently available.
