Jackson (Bruce) Campus Revolt Collection, 1969-1970

Professor Bruce Jackson's collection documenting the University of Buffalo campus unrest of 1969 and 1970. Includes minutes, reports, newspapers, student papers on press coverage and community response, WBFO radio reports, television news broadcasts and "UB Disorders" audiotapes.

Papers of Bruce Jackson, Samuel P. Capen Professor of American Culture and State University of New York Distinguished Professor of English. Included are manuscripts, working copies, drafts, notes, related correspondence, and tape transcripts for three of Jackson's published works: The Negro and His Folklore, Thief's Primer, In the Life; Versions of the Criminal Experience, and Wake Up Dead Man: Hard Labor and Southern Blues.

Jewish Archives of Greater Buffalo, Local Community Records, 1844-1976 (bulk 1920-1960)

Records of the Local Jewish Community in the Jewish Archives of Greater Buffalo include cemetery records, local temple and shul records, and Jewish organizations. Also included are material pertaining to deported persons and refugee matters, and the papers of Max M. Yellen and Dr. Gerhard J. Falk and Dr. Ursula A. Falk.

Jewish Archives of Greater Buffalo, Papers of Prominent Local Jews, 1912-1988 (bulk 1940-1980)

The Papers of Prominent Local Jews in the Jewish Archives of Greater Buffalo include the papers of Donald S. Day, Dorothy Goldberg, Bernard Mandelkern, Morton Merowitz, Haskell Penn, and Milton Plesur as well as oral history interviews with other notable persons. Included in the collection are committee reports, correspondence, photographs, and citizenship records.

Jewish Buffalo Archives Project Website

The Jewish Buffalo Archives Project was founded in 2007 under the auspices of the Bureau of Jewish Education of Greater Buffalo with a seed grant from the Foundation of Jewish Philanthropies.  The Project collects mainly twentieth century documentation relating to the diverse histories, religious traditions and cultures of Jewish communities within the Greater Buffalo area of Western New York, encompassing the geographic areas of Erie and Niagara Counties.

University Archives is the holding repository for the Jewish Buffalo Archives Project.

Jewish Community Center of Greater Buffalo and Summer Camps Records, 1915-2009

The collection of Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Greater Buffalo and Summer Camps Records contains a wide range of material, dominated by photographs and program-related materials for the JCC, Camp Lakeland and Camp Centerland. Also, contains correspondence, reports, publications, newsletters, and handwritten documents. An additional three other collections are included: annual Jewish community book fair records; Jewish Film Festival and Jewish Repertory Theatre records.

Jewish Federation of Greater Buffalo Records, 1914-2011

Records of the Jewish Federation and, because of the Federation's encompassing nature, the some records from affiliated and supported institutions. Local case files on Soviet Jewish immigration created by Jewish Family Service are included. The collection includes a file of the Jewish Federation's newsletter, Federation News.

Jones (Grace Keller) Papers, circa 1949-1968

Papers consist of drafts, working copies, and published editions of two chemistry manuals for nursing students written by Grace Keller Jones. The first manual, Chemistry Experiments for Nursing Students was written for use in course Nursing 121-122 (Chemistry), a course taught by Jones at the University of Buffalo. The second manual, Experimental Chemistry for Student Nurses was written for use as a chemistry laboratory manual for student nurses. Also included is correspondence between Jones and her publisher and lithographer for her first publication.
