Where to Print

Library research computers: Can print ( but not modify ) Microsoft Office

documents, web pages (including MyUB/UBlearns), Electronic Course Reserve materials, PDF files

Cybraries: Can print everything available at library research terminals, plus:

· Microsoft Office documents that require typing/editing before printing

· Mulberry e-mail

MyUB/UB WebMail

Problem: Prints only the “header” (top portion of the page), not the section you want.

Solution:

  1. Position your mouse arrow over the section you would like to print (usually the lower right-hand area of the page).
  2. Right-click (that is, click the right-hand button on the mouse).
  3. Select "Print" from the list of options presented.

PDF Files

Problem: Doesn't print out after selecting File—Print or pressing Ctrl + P keys.

Solution: Press the Print button on Adobe Acrobat Reader's program toolbar (in the middle of your screen, below your browser's own Back/Stop/Print buttons). It is the second button from the left.

Problem: PDF prints incorrectly, but looks fine on the screen.

Solution: Choose the Print as Image option in the printer dialogue box.

PowerPoint Slides

Problem: Only prints one large slide per page; prints very slowly.

Solution: Print PowerPoint presentations in “Handout” form, grouping 3 slides onto a single page. For specific instructions, visit the Printing: Help A-Z page at http://ublib.buffalo.edu/libraries/helpAZ/printing.html#e .

UBLearns

Solution:

  1. Before opening the file you want to print, right-click on the hyperlink.
  2. Select “Open Link in New Window”.
  3. In the new browser window, select File , then Print (or press Ctrl + P ).
